Totally agree with all of you. But some of us hunt fenced in properties that don’t raise deer just for rack size and only put natural food plots out. Us in the Military hunt in our installations (that are fenced in) Is it the same as hunting the Texas ranches? In some cases yes but I will take anyone out and you will see that the guidelines in place that you’re not just hunting a 200 class deer that comes to a feeder. You are hunting free range with alot of area to cover and you have to do your homework if you want a good spot to hunt out of. These big fence ranches need to do the same, NO spotter (scout) and make you do the work if you want one of their deer. Shouldn’t be able to wait by a feeder and watch them just come in by the dozen and you shoot the biggest one. That’s not hunting. Ft. Riley was one of the best installations to hunt, reminded me of my farm in Kentucky. Only so many could draw a tag and then you had to do the work scouting, planning etc. Then first come first serve to get the spot that you want. No breeding program and no genetic altered deer with a high protein diet. And yet there are some monsters there.

Anything that involves military personel, in my book, should have fringe benefits that exceed those of common civilians, especially those that have been in the action, we don't treat our returning soldiers right by any means. It turns my stomach to see how some of our Vietnam vets are living today........ I salute you Patrick!
