Just wondering if anyone has or knows people that shoot a Christensen. I just bought a slightly used .7 RUM custom for about $1200 less than the new customs sell for.
Thus far it is a light tack driver, but has the recoil of my .375 H&H.
I am sending it back to Christensen for some slight modifications. Basically, touch up the stock, add the new Swarovski Z6 scope and spiralize the bolt.
Any comments on your experience with Christensen?
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks, I notice that the 300 RUm is probasbly the top seller. I did not know anything about doing a set back on the BBL and in all honesty don't know what the means. When I first started talking to christensen, I told them I wanted a rifle that would pop the eye out of a cow elk at 400 yards. They said, "The gun will do that, but it depends on the shooter." kindly tell me a bit more about the bbl set back.
thanks,
mark

it's chasing the throat. You have a smith cut a thread or two off and rechamber the barrel. you can't do it too often cause you run out of shank.

Go with the 338 norma mag improved. Same performace as rum with better brass and more eff. I send a 180 at 3250fps with my 7-338norma 98grains of us869. Might want to brake it though. It hits harder than the rums with that small fat case.
