I had the same thing happen with my bear bow I bought. Shooting a couple of days a week (100-150 arrows per day) and waxed the strings once a week for about 3 months and my string started fraying. Cabelas didnt cooperate neither did bear, so I just did some research and ordered strings from Winner's Choice and took it too Sportsman's warehouse and they installed it free.
A friend of mine bought a alpine silverado, after 2 days at the range, (maybe 100 arrows the string looked horrible. He took it back to Sportsman's warehouse and told him to replace the strings with whatever strings he wants and they will reimburse him, which they did. The only problem with Sportsman's is that sometimes you get people who don't know **** about archery working behind the counter.
Winner's choice make good strings and wicked1 archery wicked blend are good. I have used them both, I have wicked1's on my bow right now and both companies are great.
