You know the fish and game department of Montana LOVE their non resident tags... I understand they went down a bit this year and that there is also a bill on the State viote that may stop the outfitter tags.
I was a bit disheartened to read that many people see the outfitter tags as rich out of state hunters getting a break. A break is true as to finally book a SE montana powder river trip put the BREAK on my hunting fund....

Any hunters from Montana have some thoughts on the bill or this tag? Would also like to hear from anyone that has or does hunt the SE Montana area along the powder river.

MT FWP I-161 it'll never go through A good chunk of money from outfitter sponsor tags goes toward Block Management which is a good thing, one of the few tools left fighting against the commercial machine, leasing up or locking out land. Besides the plan would only increase the general out of state (non-resident) drawing fees if they could not get the money from outfitter sponsor.  It would also put a few small operation outfitters under in the process but the bigger operations would survive, this is something FWP is trying to avoid putting start-ups (new business) out of business.  I am a former resident of MT of 12 years but I have been applying under General drawing for the past 10 years and I hunted the SE region a few times even lived in Baker for a year.
