Welcome to the site! I've hunted them a few times but haven't sealed the deal yet. I'm going to retire in Wyoming and I'll sure be chasing them then. I hope to get one with my bow.

I try to get out Elk hunting about every other year. I live in CO for 2 years and loved the pursuit of the elk but my true passion was whitetail and that season is much longer. I'm back in Kansas with the Whitetail but still pursue the elk. Infact, I'm headed out there in Sept. this year to try and get one. Still have yet to get one for the wall, but they are all trophies right!

Why hello everyone, great to hear from ya. I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination but I'm willing to help anyone where i can (just short of telling them where i go LOL). Never been much of a rifle hunter, kinda more of a bowhunter tactic type of guy. I just love to hear stories and see picture of everyones trips. To me there is nothing better than a good success story, where people put in the time and effort to get the job done. By the way I am personally only 61 days out from leaving for 12 days of heaven in elk camp. Can't wait to have some great discussions.

I to, live to hunt Elk. Been chasing them around the woods for the last 23 years. Hunted the late rifel hunts for the frist 18 years, and hav taken my fare share with a 30-06. But fell in love with bow hunting and have been at that for 5 years. I have yet to take an Elk with my bow, but I WILL keep trying. Never the less, I love to get in the woods with screaming beautiful ELK.

I'm studying all the topos and satellite imagery photos that I can get my hands on of the place I'm headed this year. Can't wait. We are going to hike in and set up a small camp in an area I found a few years back. Lots of sign, new and old, good water, nice meadows and dark timber and its fair share of coolies. Just the experience alone is worth the trip. I think I'll enjoy be in the element all the time rather than hiking in and out of it like usual.

Elk hunting is what I live for. There is no feeling in the world to be in the woods with a bull 5 yards away screeming in your ear. I have guided of and on since 1985 for these animals. These animals are the top of my list in September. I have hunted most of the western part of Colorado and some of the southern mountains. The fun is the hunt not the kill.I just enjoy out smarting them anymore .
